The story behind OriGen

OriGen Paints

A story of lime, material science and one conviction: healthier spaces begin with healthier surfaces.

Founder story

A different way of understanding paint

OriGen is the result of decades of research into lime, mineral materials and healthier ways to protect the spaces we live in.

Spanish chemical engineer Antonio León Jiménez is an entrepreneur and innovator, as well as co-founder, President and CTO of Graphenstone. His work connects traditional lime craftsmanship with material science to create high-performance coatings with a lower environmental impact.

Research, matter and evolution

From lime craftsmanship to a new generation of paints

01 2006

The starting point: IEdiSA

After working in R&D and as CTO for a leading coatings company in Spain and Morocco, Antonio founded IEdiSA, focused on traditional lime-based materials.

Years of research, alongside specialists and the University of Seville, transformed artisanal lime into the foundation for new mineral formulations.

02 2013

Innovation takes shape

Graphenstone launched with the first 100% natural paint combining lime and graphene, without plastics, VOCs, heavy metals or toxic solvents.

The result united durability and flexibility with moisture and thermal regulation, air purification and CO₂ absorption.

03 2023

OriGen Paints is born

OriGen brings this knowledge to lime-based paints, bases and mortars formulated without biocides. OxiGen introduces a more responsible approach that reduces waste, lowers the carbon footprint and eliminates harmful chemicals.

The vision continues with GrafGen, CACO3® Technology and Bio_Base: mineral systems designed to unite high performance, healthy interiors and environmental responsibility.

Our point of view

Returning to the origin is not looking back. It is moving forward with materials that are more honest, healthier and made to last.
